The Safety Inspection and Assessment of memorials has long been a cause for concern in the memorial industry. There is now a comprehensive training course available which encompasses the Ministry of Justice guidelines for Memorial Safety Inspection as well as the Scottish Government Guidelines for Burial Authorities.

Douglas is a fully qualified SQA Trainer in all aspects of Memorial Safety Inspection as well as being a SQA  Assessor and Verifier.

Douglas Swan & Sons can provide comprehensive reports on all aspects of memorial safety including reports on damage whether caused by weather, accident or deliberate vandalism.

 

As part of the services provided by Douglas Swan & Sons, we can provide training in all aspects of memorial safety or carry out the memorial inspections on behalf of a Burial Authority or client..

One of our more recent contracts was with Carlisle City Council where we inspected three burial grounds within the City including re pairing and making safe a number of memorial and six closed and rural churchyards. In addition to the inspections photographic evidence was provided along with a comprehensive data base of all memorial inspected and or repaired.
